Project overview

Add independent records without replacing the original system

The forging factory needed centralized visibility for six R-type and two K-type thermocouples. A separate acquisition system was installed so the factory’s existing temperature equipment could continue operating.

Customer Challenge

  • Monitor six R-type and two K-type thermocouples.
  • Keep the existing temperature system in continuous operation.
  • Distribute acquisition hardware across four control panels.
  • Check and store all temperature values from an office PC.
  • Use fixed thermocouple configurations suited to the customer’s process.

PnP IoTs Solution

PnP IoTs installed four PD-AWS-S8 RTUs and eight SB1-TM thermocouple modules. The delivered modules were configured for the customer’s fixed R-type and K-type requirements, creating an independent monitoring path to AutoSave on the office PC.

The standard SB1-TM supports thermocouple-type selection. For this project the delivered configuration was customized around the factory’s fixed six R-type and two K-type channels, simplifying field operation and identification.
